Discount department store retailer returns to Corby

Discount department store retailer, which includes dedicated furniture and homeware sections, TJ Hughes has announced the opening of its new Corby store.

Situated on Willow Place, the new 23,000sqft store marks the retailer’s return to Corby after 12 years and has created around 30 jobs.

TJ Hughes has recently published its latest accounts, covering a shortened period from 1 July 2021 to 31 December 2021 where the company returned to full trading following the Covid pandemic, with sales of £16.2m and a pre-tax profit of £104,000.

“Due to the extended period of non-trading, the company had an EBITDA of 6.2% for the period,” the business added.
