Furniture manufacturer delivers sales growth and profit

Folding guest beds, sofas, sofa beds and mattresses manufacturer, Jay-Be, has reported another growth in turnover and a return to profit.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 20 August 2023, total sales rose 11.5% to £22.3m from £20m in 2022, adding to its growth of 21% from £16.5m in 2021.

Pre-tax profit resulted at £31,000, improving from its loss of £107,000 recorded the previous year.

UK sales rose 2.1% to £19.3m from £18.9m, while exports increased 190% to £2.9m from £1m.

Stated within its report, the company said: “The board is pleased to announce that FY2023 marked another year of record sales. This achievement signifies the 14th consecutive year of growth, excluding the pandemic-impacted FY2020.

“Jay-Be Limited experienced growth across all major sales channels, with the UK and export markets both performing strongly. The Contract Sales Channel saw a 10% YoY increase, while the Retail Sales Channel enjoyed a 12% YoY growth. The company is focused on expanding retail sales globally, with particular emphasis on the UK, USA, and Europe.”
