Danish furniture retailer JYSK will continue its UK expansion and open its first Sheffield store on 25th July at Unit 4 Queens Road Retail Park.
The new store falls within District Manager, Kirsty Meese’s region and features a spacious layout of 950 square metres of floor space. Designed to create an inviting and inspiring environment for shoppers with the latest retail concept, JYSK customers can expect to shop everything from outdoor living collections, furniture, accessories, soft furnishings, and lighting.
In addition to bringing affordable Scandi-chic homeware to Sheffield, JYSK is also creating six jobs.
To mark the grand opening, JYSK is offering a number of exclusive experiences and treats to the Sheffield community. Firstly, customers will be treated to up to 80% off hundreds of products throughout opening week exclusively at the Sheffield store, as well as plenty of additional great offers online and in all stores across the country.
Secondly, JYSK has partnered with well-known local bakery, Forge Bakehouse, and will be handing out free baked goods between 9AM – 12PM on opening day. The sweet treats will be given out on a first come, first served basis, so shoppers are encouraged to head down early to get the full experience. Elsewhere in store, there will be a DJ performing to celebrate the opening.
“We are so excited to bring our exceptional selection of home furnishings to the Sheffield community,” comments Ciaron Hearns, Sales & Marketing Manager, UK & Ireland, JYSK. “Our goal at JYSK (pronounced YOOSK) is to provide customers with a one-stop destination for all their home decor needs, offering modern and comfortable solutions at affordable prices. The new JYSK Sheffield store has everything a customer could need for a great shopping experience with our latest merchandising concept to services such as Klarna payment options, local delivery solutions and same day click-and-collect.”
Throughout 2024, JYSK is focusing on bolstering and expanding its store portfolio to bring UK customers the best in scandi homeware from improved, refreshed stores.
Sheffield adds to JYSK’s store portfolio of 28 UK stores, and there are even further plans to renovate one existing UK store before the end of the year. For the financial year 2022/23 (FY23), JYSK reached an EBIT result of DKK 3.96 billion (EUR 531 million) and increased its turnover by 6.3% to DKK 38.5 billion (EUR 5.2 billion.)
The global home furnishing retailer continued its expansion plans and welcomed over 1.2 million new customers to its stores despite the slowdown in the global retail market.
