Furniture design business Soane Britain has reported record sales as turnover climbed towards £20m.
According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2023, total sales rose 17% to £16.3m from £13.9m in 2022.
UK sales rose 19.5% to £5.5m from £4.6m, while EU revenues increased 3% to £921,000 from £894,000. Rest of the world sales delivered growth of 18% to £9.8m from £8.3m.
Pre-tax profit resulted at £1.8m, unchanged from its profit recorded in its previous year.
Stated within its report, Soane Britain said: “The company recorded record turnover levels in 2023 thanks to continued high demand for Soane designs and expansion of our collections into rattan, lighting, fabrics and wallpapers.
“In September 2023 we made a significant investment in the North American market to open a flagship showroom on Madison Avenue. The renaissance of the Upper East Side as a desirable retail location, combined with the decline in North American design centre footfall, has contributed to our showroom becoming a destination location for the North American design community and a showcase for British design and craftmanship.
“We are delighted by the continued demand for our designs, particularly in fabrics and wallpapers. We are confident in the future as demand for Soane’s designs remains strong.”
