An upholstered office chair by ByKallevig has been recalled over fire safety risks.
The Office for Product Safety and Standards has issued a product recall on the ByKallevig EOCH Office Chair in Black and Brown, models EOCH 231 and EOCH 133.
The products, a faux leather upholstered office chair in black and brown, originate from China and have been identified as a medium level fire risk.
The recall said: “The products have been identified as presenting a risk of fire as they fail to meet the requirements of the relevant standard and do not provide the level of fire safety required. There was also no labelling.
“The product does not meet the requirements of the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988. The product has been recalled from end users.”
The recall adds to an earlier recall of seven upholstered dinning and office chairs by the brand back in March this year, which failed under the same conditions. Read more.
“These products are prone to setting on fire due to accidental exposure to flame (eg. from a lit cigarette) and as such, they are posing a danger to your home,” the company said.
