Bensons forges new retail partnership to highlight menopause-friendly products

UK bed specialist Bensons for Beds has partnered with GenM, The Menopause Partner for Brands and Home of the MTick, to bring visibility to menopause-friendly products.

This World Menopause Awareness Day (18th October), Bensons for Beds is helping women in the UK to have a better night’s sleep with a new partnership with GenM, who work alongside brand and retail partners bring visibility, choice and trust the menopause through the MTick – the universal shopping symbol for menopause-friendly products.

The partnership kickstarts with Bensons’ World Menopause Awareness Day campaign this October, highlighting the bed specialist’s menopause-friendly products, which have been awarded the MTick, and supporting GenM’s ‘Live Your Best Menopause’ campaign, backed by famous faces such as Sally Gunnell OBE and Emma Neville.

In a bid to highlight menopause-friendly sleep products and make sleep easier for menopausal women, Bensons new, exclusive iGel® NanoTech™ Graphene Mattress range has been accredited with GenM’s MTick – the trusted shopping symbol to signpost menopause friendly products, instilling customers with confidence to shop products that can support any one of the 48 menopause signs. The collaboration will give visibility to Bensons’ menopause-friendly ranges in-store, online and through brand communications, as well as in-store customer support with experts available to help shoppers find products to best support their menopause needs.

The iGel® range of mattresses is MTick accredited, with technical claim data supporting its temperature-regulating properties which can help to relieve night sweats. The exclusive patented Graphene technology transfers heat away from the body twelve times faster than standard foam.

iGel®  NanoTech™ mattresses are proven to absorb, store and release heat, helping individuals to sleep at just the right temperature, and they also aid moisture control for a fresher sleep environment. The new NanoTech™ Graphene technology is the smallest, lightest and most powerful thermal conductor ever featured in iGel® mattresses: the nano sized particles are up to 1500 times smaller than a grain of sand, meaning they can be compacted even more closely together and transfer heat quicker, making them perfect for easing hot sleep, so commonly experienced with the menopause. The iGel®  range also comes with a myriad of other benefits too, including pressure relief and optimum support to alleviate aches and pains.

Lisa Richards, Head of Marketing at Bensons For Beds said: “We are thrilled to be partnering with GenM, and to have our superb iGel® NanoTech™ Graphene mattress range identified as a product which can help with one of the 48 signs of the menopause, as recognised by GenM.

“As sleep experts, we have been helping our customers get a better night’s sleep for many years, so we understand the impact of the menopause on sleep and what this can bring, including night sweats. We hope that through our iGel®  mattresses and the MTick accreditation, we’ll make these products more accessible and discoverable by consumers, encouraging even more conversation about the menopause.”

Heather Jackson CEO and Co-Founder at GenM said: “We are delighted that Bensons for Beds has joined the GenM Collective, united to bring visibility to menopause-friendly products that can give millions of women a better night’s sleep and therefore, a better lived experience of their menopause.

“We know through our independent and credible research that night sweats are one of the more commonly experienced menopause signs, so having bedding which is proven to support with these signs could truly be game-changing for women. Through their sleep expertise, they’ve created a truly standout product in the iGel®  NanoTech™ Graphene range of mattresses, and we’re delighted that with the MTick, we can bring visibility to these products for menopausal women.”
