Flooring retailer returns to profit

Flooring retailer Flooring Superstore reported a decline in sales but a return to profit.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 July 2024, total sales fell 4.8% to £49.3m from £51.8m in 2023.

EBITDA stood at £1.8m, up from a negative £545,000, while pre-tax profit resulted at £619,000, improving from a loss of £3.2m recorded in the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company, which trades across 42 stores, said: “The group has returned to profitability in the year. Gross margin has improved while stock holding, employee numbers and other costs were reduced.”
