Wholesaler posts revenues close to £200m

Furnishings wholesaler and third-party logistics specialist MH Star has reported a growth in sales as losses narrowed to under £10m.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2023, total sales rose 10.2% to £183.8m from £166.7m in 2022.

Pre-tax losses resulted at £9.8m, narrowing from a loss of £12.6m recorded in the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company said: “Key focus for the year has been on expanding both the product range and increasing the number of marketplaces through which the products are sold.

“During 2023, the company has taken opportunities to reduce warehouse capacity by exercising the break clause for the St Neots warehouse and successfully subletting the Bedford 3 unit.

“All stock is located in the other UK warehouses. No stocks are stored at third-party logistics suppliers. The UK ecommerce market has bounced back in the second half.”
