In 1987, Ned and Lynda Hart took over, adding their own flair and expanding the store’s offerings to include custom and finished furniture. In 2011, siblings Jed Hart and Trisha Claridge stepped up and bought the business from their parents. Around this time, they also started offering upholstered furniture to give customers even more options. Together, they’ve kept the family spirit alive while bringing fresh ideas to the store.
For Jed, running Woodshed Furniture has always been about more than just selling furniture. “Family is everything,” he shares, and that connection is clear in how the store operates. Over the years, Jed’s kids learned invaluable lessons about running a business by spending time in the store. While they’re now grown, Jed cherishes the flexibility the business gave him to coach their soccer and baseball teams as they were growing up.
