Carpet wholesaler enters liquidation with over £100k owed

Carpets and blinds wholesaler Ian McNicholas Carpets has been placed into liquidation.

Daniel Ormerod and Sean Williams, both of Leonard Curtis, were appointed as joint liquidators of Ian McNicholas Carpets Limited on 7 June 2022.

Detailed in newly filed documents on Companies House, the business owed creditors £124,000 including a secured HMRC VAT claim of £12,000.

Company assets valuing £7,000 from cash will see some of the secured claim repaid, leaving a creditor shortfall of £116,000.

Included within the unsecured claims is a bounce back loan of £48,000 owed to Santander Bank, as well as claims valuing £28,000 to supermarket chain Aldi, £20,000 to real estate agency Colliers, £5,500 to Belgian carpet manufacturer Millennium Weavers Europe and £6,500 to flooring wholesaler DM Miller.
