Furniture wholesaler grows profit despite sales fall

Furniture wholesaler Seconique has reported a decline in sales while profit increased.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 30 June 2024, total sales fell 2.2% to £25.6m from £26.2m in 2023.

UK sales were slightly down to £25.5m from £25.8m, while EU sales fell to £147,000 from £354,000. Rest of the world sales registered £25,000.

Pre-tax profit resulted at £3.4m, up from £2m recorded in the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company said: “The consumer demand was strong in all its markets, expansion into new channels to market supported a satisfactory year.

“The Directors believe that the continued provision of good quality furniture, that is supported with an excellent service to these products, is a key factor in maintaining the strong relationship with customers.”
