Furniture retailer Lee Longlands has confirmed plans to close its store in Derby.
Situated on Corner Exchange Street & East Street in the centre of Derby, the store is to hold a £2m clearance sale as it prepares to relocate to a retail park with a purpose-built showroom.
The retailer has opted to not renew the lease at the location, ending 12 years at the site. The closing-down sale will run from 14 to 16 March 2025.
In a statement, a spokesperson said that following the success of its Bristol store opening, it is “hoping to complete shortly on the Derby relocation and expects to make the announcement about the new showroom in the coming weeks”, with the move demonstrating the “business’s continued commitment to reinvest in the right areas of its infrastructure, following a clear strategic growth map”.
