Independent furniture retailer KC Sofas has announced the opening of its new – and larger – superstore following a relocation process.
The family-run Doncaster-based business has moved from its Kirk Sandall store to a brand-new superstore at 2 & 3 Wagon Works on J3 Business Park in Carr Hill.
The new store officially opened on Saturday 24 May 2025 and is a “major upgrade” in space, providing the “next step in our journey to becoming a thriving furniture brand”, says Co-founder Jamie Charnock.

“After months of planning, we finally opened our doors to the brand-new superstore in Doncaster. After seven years of being in Kirk Sandall, we decided it was time to upgrade to a much bigger and better location, which more befitted our success and reputation in the area.
“Located at the redeveloped “Doncaster train works”, which once played a major part in the construction of the Mallard and Flying Scotsman, we felt this was an ideal location for the people of Doncaster to visit for their next sofa due to its location – just seconds away from Junction 3 off the M18 and a stone’s throw away from the Lakeside Shopping Village.
“We absolutely fell in love with the property and location when we first visited it. With so much history connected to Doncaster and the age of the steam train we had to have it. The historic building has been turned into an incredibly modern and spacious sofa store, which we are so proud to show off to the people of Doncaster.”
KC Sofas was founded in 2014 and operates across six stores in the north of England.
