Bespoke furniture business plans second showroom

Bespoke furniture business The Rusland Movement has earmarked plans for a new showroom in Altrincham.

Situated on Railway Street, a planning application submitted by Blue Support Services Ltd plans to convert part of the Grade II-listed former bank building into a high-end furniture showroom.

The space will sell bespoke, handmade artisan furniture made by The Rusland Movement, and will become the businesses second showroom, adding to its site in Backbarrow.

The plans are only for the basement and first floor, with the upper floors remaining as they currently are, with the business looking to implement restoration and improvement works across the levels stated.

“Some minor external alterations are proposed to the ground floor,” the plans said. “Due to the site’s location within a conservation area, these alterations do not benefit from permitted development, and therefore require planning permission.”
