Flooring business maintains sales growth despite UK dip

Flooring and wall cladding solutions provider Altro has reported another growth in sales and strong profits.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2024, total sales rose 1.8% to £129.5m from £127.2m in 2023, further adding to its growth of 8.6% from £117.1m in 2022.

UK sales fell 3.7% to £84.4m from £87.7m, while EU sales decreased to £14.7m from £15.3m. US sales rose to £17.8m from £13.5m, while Australia sales increased to £4.9m from £3.9m. Rest of the world sales were up to £7.5m from £6.6m.

Pre-tax profit resulted at £8m, slightly down from its profit of £9m recorded last year.

Stated within its report, the company said: “Turnover has increased year on year aided by price increases into the market, and operating profit has also recovered significantly as raw material prices stabilised. Performance against the KPls in 2024 is once again considered satisfactory given the wider economic context.

“The Company continues to look to grow both its UK and overseas markets in the longer term. More immediately, the Company remains focused on responding to the evolving conditions across its international markets and managing raw material price pressures. The company will continue to monitor the ongoing economic situation and impact of potential US tariffs on its international trade.”
