Kitchen furniture manufacturer Omega has reported a growth in turnover as sales climbed towards £50m.
According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2021, total sales rose 16% to £49.3m from £42.5m in 2020.
Gross profit increased from £14.4m to £19.9m, while EBITDA increased by 33% to £9.8m. Pre-tax profit resulted at £5.3m, up from its profit of £2.7m recorded the previous year.
Stated within its report, the company, which celebrated its 25th year of trading during 2021, said that despite the challenges from lockdowns and supply chain pressures, it successfully managed these throughout the year and is ‘pleased with the progress’ made.
Omega added that seven employees also reached their 25th anniversary with the company, while looking ahead, the business said order intake is up 43% at the end of June.
“We continue to innovate and we have launched a new product in the first half of 2022, which will cement our market-leading offering and customer engagement,” the group said.
As part of its celebrations for its milestone year, the company appointed one of its founders, Newton Winfield, in the position of Life President.
“Providing employment for the local community has been one of the key objectives of the business from the outset, and continues to be at the heart of recruitment, so the directors were delighted to celebrate with seven of the original employees also reaching 25 years’ of service during the year.”
