Home furnishings retailer Dunelm has announced the opening of its relocated Rugby store.
The move has seen the business relocate from its town centre store to a new premises on Elliott’s Field Retail Park.
Commenting on the opening, Dunelm said: “We welcomed lots of loyal and new customers through the doors and celebrated with goody bags, gift cards, bacon rolls and golden tickets. There was also an opportunity for some local small businesses to join us and share their products.
“The opening of this store also sees the launch of our new, dedicated community colleague role. This role works directly with the local community, partnering with charities, helping with fundraising and will manage our local Dunelm community Facebook group for our customers. Well done to everyone who was involved in launching the new look Rugby store.”
Dunelm has also announced its intention to conduct an external audit tender.
The current external auditor of Dunelm is PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC), which were first appointed in January 2014.
The appointment followed a competitive tender and was approved by shareholders at the AGM in 2014, with PwC subsequently being reappointed annually since then. A resolution to reappoint PwC as external auditor will be put to shareholders on 30 November 2022.
A statement from the retailer said: “Dunelm announces that it is commencing a tender process for the role of external auditor in respect of the FY24 statutory audit in line with the requirements of the UK Corporate Governance Code.
“The audit tender process will be overseen by the Audit and Risk Committee and is expected to conclude later this year. A resolution proposing the appointment of the selected firm will be put to shareholders at the 2023 Annual General Meeting.”
