Vinyl flooring and tiles manufacturer Amtico has reported a growth in sales as turnover surpassed £100m.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2021, total sales rose 18% to £102.9m from £87.3m in 2020.

Gross profit increased from £30.1m to £36.3m, while pre-tax profit resulted at £10m, up from £3.6m recorded the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company said that sales and manufacturing operations returned to pre-pandemic activity, with the UK sector proving to be ‘particularly strong’.

UK sales rose 29% to £75.4m from £58.1m, while EU sales dipped slightly to £25.9m from £26m. Sales outside the EU fell from £3.2m to £1.6m.

“Operating profit increased 395% in this year to £8.9k, reflecting the increased sales activity. Gross profit margins were impacted by higher raw material and utility costs in the second half of 2021 and selling price rises were put through to mitigate these additional costs,” the business added.
