Fashion and homewares retailer H&M has announced the opening of a new furnishing store in Essex.

The new store, which sits next to its existing clothing shop at Lakeside shopping centre, features H&M’s home range including furniture, textiles and decorative products.

The space covers a total of 8,000sqft with the extension bringing H&M’s retail space to over 40,000sqft at the site.

Steve Gray, head of European retail asset management at Global Mutual, the asset manager of Intu SGS, which owns and manages Lakeside, said: “The extension will increase H&M’s prominence within the centre and the new emphasis on sustainability and customer experience – alongside the launch of H&M Home – will provide a real draw for shoppers.”

The new store officially opened on 29 September 2022.
