Home furnishings retailer Dunelm has launched a new initiative to pass on old furnishing items to people in need.
The retailer is trialling its Home to Home initiative at four stores in Exeter, Livingston, Oldbury and Rubgy, each with their own respective charity partners, which are Julian House, Home Aid, Brushstrokes Project and Emmaus Coventry.
As part of the pass-it-on initiative, Dunelm is encouraging customers to donate a variety of items fit for purpose including kitchenware and home decor items like clocks, mirrors, throws, curtains, cushions and small storage items.
Once donated, these will be passed onwards to families and individuals in the local community of each store location who will be able to make good use of them.
“We’re working with these partners to find new homes for pre-loved items, which will be provided free-of-charge to members of your community,” Dunelm said.
Dunelm has also announced the opening of its new look store in Romford. Officially opening on 23 December at its Eastern Avenue location, the revamped store features a new Made to Measure department selling curtains and blinds, a larger furniture showroom and a refreshed Pausa Kitchen Café.
To celebrate the relaunch, Dunelm is offering the first 30 customers ‘goody bags’ while also hiding 20 golden tickets around the store with vouchers ranging from £5 to £20.
