Six months before imm cologne opens, the trade fair team reports excellent interim results: Around 70 per cent of the planned exhibition area is already reserved.
The trade fair’s strategic repositioning as a clearly B2B-focused platform for market-ready interior design solutions has broad support within the industry. imm cologne will once again mark the start of the interior design year from 20 to 23 January 2026.
“The excellent level of bookings and the positive response underscore imm cologne’s relevance as an international business hub for the furniture and interior design industries,” says Bernd Sanden, imm cologne’s director. “The fact that so many exhibitors have committed to the event’s new concept at this early stage and support its new direction is a crucial sign of the industry’s trust – and further impetus for the next steps in our preparations for the 2026 trade fair year.”
Global response from exhibitors strengthens the event’s profile
The positive interim results are based on strong international participation from a wide range of countries: Companies from more than 26 nations have already confirmed their appearance at the Interior Business Event – including exhibitors from Austria, Bulgaria, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Serbia, Slovenia, Ukraine, the UK and the US. This diverse line-up of exhibitors underscores imm cologne’s importance on the global calendar of events.
The sales team is also doing brisk business in the German market. Intense discussions are currently under way with key industry players. A market-aligned participation price of 100 euros per square metre creates planning certainty and a reliable basis for a transparently priced and cost-efficient trade fair presence.
The business platform for consumer-oriented interior design solutions
At the heart of imm cologne’s new concept is its pivotal role as a central business platform for the consumer-oriented interiors market. Companies will gather at the event to present market-ready interior design products to decision-makers from bricks-and-mortar furniture stores, e-commerce retailers, the DIY segment, and the international wholesale and specialist trade. imm cologne is the place where companies lay the foundations for new business, open up new sales channels and develop long-term partnerships.
As an efficient sourcing platform, the trade fair provides targeted access to the German market and to major target groups in Central Europe. World of Interiors will serve as imm cologne’s key theme for its showcase of the entire spectrum of the interior design market: from entry-level price points to lifestyle furniture, from high-volume vendors to established brands. The exhibition will be supplemented by research-backed insights into consumer trends, changes in purchase behaviour and future market developments.
Accompanying programme in the pipeline
Alongside the ongoing recruitment of exhibitors, the trade fair team is working on an accompanying event programme that will deepen the event’s business orientation by addressing relevant topics. The event programme is designed to foster the international dialogue within the sector and to present specially curated content for the furniture and interior design industries with a strong practical focus.
