Bed retailer Bensons for Beds has announced the introduction of its new made to order Artisan mattress collection.

The five new mattresses in the Artisan collection include Splendour, Decadence, Opulence, Indulgence, and Utopia, and feature the natural materials from around the world including Wools of New Zealand wool, UK organic alpaca wool, GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified organic British Wool, organic cotton, flax and silk fibres, as well as other beneficial natural materials such as bamboo, lambswool, mohair and horsehair.

“All are breathable, naturally temperature-regulating, sustainable and cruelty-free,” Bensons said. “They have been chosen for their superior softness, resilience, and breathability. Some of the materials differ depending on the mattress model.”

The range includes an exclusive spring system made up of a blend of traditional pocket springs and mini pocket springs for support and durability in the core of the mattress.

The total number of springs ranges from a 4000 to 7000 depending on the model, with 65% of the pocket springs made from recycled steel.

Staples & Co. was the first company to make a recyclable mattress in 1895, and due to the carefully selected materials used in the range, the new Artisan mattresses are also fully recyclable at the end of their life span.
