Carpet designer and manufacturer Burmatex has reported another year of growing sales and profit.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2023, total sales rose 14.6% to £21.1m from £18.4m in 2022, adding to its previous year’s growth of 16.4% from £15.8m in 2021.

UK sales were up 7.9% to £16.2m from £15m, while export revenues climbed 41% to £4.8m from £3.4m year-on-year.

Burmatex, part of the AIREA Floor Coverings Group, recorded a pre-tax profit of £1.7m, up 30.7% from £1.3m against the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company said that operating return on sales was 8.7%, up from 7.7%, while working capital to sales percentage was 21.5% compared to 25.3% year-on-year.
