Carpet designer and manufacturer Burmatex has reported another year of growing sales and profit.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2022, total sales rose 16.4% to £18.4m from £15.8m in 2021, adding to its previous year’s growth of 8.9%.

UK sales were up 12.7% to £15m from £13.3m, while export revenues climbed 41% to £3.4m from £2.4m year-on-year.

Burmatex, part of the AIREA Floor Coverings Group, recorded a pre-tax profit of £1.3m, up 8.3% from £1.2m against the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company said that operating return on sales was 7.7%, down from 8.5%, while working capital to sales percentage was 25.3% compared to 27.8% year-on-year.
