DFS announces partnership with basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal 

Former professional basketball player, Shaquille O’Neal, has been enlisted by national furniture retailer, DFS, to promote its reclining furniture range – including La-Z-Boy products – in the UK.

The partnership forms part of DFS’s wider commitment to help everyone ‘find their thing’ and provide maximum comfort and style in customers’ homes, at affordable prices.

Shaq kicked off the new partnership by surprising staff and customers at DFS’s store in Wednesbury, to try out the recliner ranges for himself. Making a bee-line for his favourite La-Z-Boy range in-store, Shaq met with the DFS retail team to learn more about the products on offer, as he greeted customers and filmed content for an upcoming DFS social media campaign.

In honour of Shaq, and to officially launch the partnership, DFS has introduced a new and exclusive La-Z-Boy recliner armchair, the La-Z-Boy XL Tamla – the brand’s biggest ever recliner chair – to ensure everyone, no matter their shape or size, can find their thing and the ultimate comfort at DFS.

Inspired by Shaq’s impressive 7ft 1in stature, the new recliner armchair is exclusively available to purchase at dfs.co.uk – with every order being handmade in La-Z-Boy’s Lancashire factory. Shoppers can try it for size at selected stores across the UK.
