Furniture importer maintains strong sales despite decline

Furniture import business Coach House has reported a decline in sales as turnover dipped below £60m.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 30 September 2023, total sales fell 7.7% to £58.5m from £63.4m in 2022. Revenues remained strong compared to £49.7m achieved in 2020.

Pre-tax profit resulted at £5.2m, up from £3.6m recorded in the previous year.

UK sales were down 8% to £51.1m from £55.6m, while EU sales were also down 1.7% to £5.7m from £5.8m. Outside the EU, revenues fell 15.7% to £1.6m from £1.9m.

Stated within its report, Chairs Limited, trading as Coach House, said that gross profit margin increased from 25.7% to 31.73%.
