Furniture industry agent James Leach has helped raise money towards a new garden at his daughter’s nursery.
James and his wife Lauren, along with a number of other parents of children from High Legh Pre-School Nursery, cycled 120km from the nursery on Pheasant Walk to the pier at Llandudno in North Wales.
The group completed the bike ride in around nine hours, which took place on Friday 11 July 2024, and managed to raise £1,800.
The money will be used to transform the garden area at the nursery and create a brand-new outdoor play and learning environment for the children.
Commenting on the completing the bike ride, James said: “This is the second event we’ve participated in and it was great to be part of a team to help improve the nursey for my daughters and other local children for years to come. It’s always good to spend time away from work and helping other organisations.
“The ride started off enjoyably but you soon begin to wonder why you signed up to it! We began the cycle in the Cheshire countryside and eventually we found ourselves along the North Wales coastline in Llandudno at the foot of the pier, the feeling at the end of the ride is always one to cherish and a cold beverage was greatly appreciated.
“Thanks to all that kindly donated and now it’s time to enjoy our summer holiday with the family and contemplate on the nature of the next challenge for 2025.”
Lauren added: “The goal is to raise £5k, which will go a long way towards the £25k that is needed to renovate the children’s garden and play areas.
“Allowing them to play out in all weathers. However, all the money raised from the challenge will buy one element to aid the garden regeneration. Thank you for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.”
