Furniture store launches plant swap initiative

Furniture business Sofas & Stuff has announced the launch of its new plant swap initiative as its Salisbury store.

Launching from 1 June 2025, the New Canal-based store has introduced a monthly plant swap on the first Sunday of the month.

The idea is you bring along a plant that you don’t want or have too many of, and as long as it is healthy, free of pests and disease and is still alive, you can swap it with another plant brought by someone else.

The event was launched by Assistant Manager Hania Southwell who has become a gardening enthusiast. “I have started doing some gardening, and I have found I have a surplus of plants, and I wanted to get rid of them.

“I spoke to a friend who also said the same thing, so then I came up with this plant swap idea.”

The monthly events will also include refreshments such as soft drinks, hot drinks and cake.

Sofas & Stuff has recently revealed plans to open a new store in Richmond. (See related).
