UK searches of furniture during July seemed to be dominated by Furniture Village, with brand related, store and product-focussed searches all performing strongly.
According to Google search data analysed by Big Furniture Group, six days during July 2025 saw ‘furniture’ searches record an index score of 90 or more, while a score over 80 came in at 13 days. The highest searched date was 13 July with a full score 100.
Google index’s its search data to 100. This means where 100 is the maximum search interest for the term selected, it is the highest value and indicates a high internet search.
The results saw related searches of specific terms that included ‘Oak Furnitureland’, up 300%, ‘Furniture Village’, up 160%, and ‘David Phillips Furniture’, up 250%. Other popular terms included ‘furniture village Gillingham’ – up 3,350%, ‘kitchen furniture shop’ – up 700%, and ‘furniture village dining tables’ – up 450%, while ‘living room furniture sets’ were up 80%.
Furthermore, on Furniture Village – searches of ‘furniture village beds’ were up 300%, ‘furniture village stores’ – up 180%, ‘furniture village sofas fabric’ – up 170%, ‘furniture village sale’- up 160%, and ‘furniture village sofas’ – up 130%, were high standout related searches.
Other search terms Big Furniture Group reviewed included mattresses, bedroom furniture, dining furniture, living room furniture, sofas, carpets and flooring.
Mattresses
Mattress searches recorded two peak dates with an index score value of 90 or more. The highest searched date was 20 July with a full score of 100. Related brand searches saw Furniture Village, Origin Mattress, Emma, Panda, Nectar, Silentnight, Duvalay, IKEA and Dunlopillo all perform strongly. The terms ‘dreamcloud mattress’ – up 400%, ‘panda mattress’ – up 110%, and ‘nectar mattress’ – up 100%, were all high searches. Meanwhile, ‘IKEA mattress protector’, ‘origin mattress review’, ‘single mattress protector’ and ‘travel cot with mattress’ searches were other high related queries.
Bedroom furniture
Bedroom furniture searches recorded one day of peak activity with an index value over 90. The most searched date was 27 July, which scored a full 100. Popular brand searches included French Bedroom Company, Furniture Village, ercol, Wren, Next, The Cotswold Company, Furniture123, Bensons for Beds, Oak Furnitureland, Roseland Furniture and IKEA. The terms ‘space saving bedroom furniture’, ‘fitted bedroom furniture’, ‘children’s bedroom furniture sets uk’, ‘white and gold bedroom furniture’, and ‘cream and oak bedroom furniture’ were high breakout searches, while ‘girls bedroom furniture set’ searches rose 3,250%, and ‘handmade bedroom furniture’ searches were up 2,100%.
Dining furniture
Dining furniture searches recorded four days of peak activity with an index value over 90. The most searched date was 20 July, which scored a full 100. Popular brand searches included Furniture Village, Natuzzi, Oak Furnitureland, Cousins, John Lewis, Loaf, Dwell and Wayfair. The terms ‘furniture village sale dining tables’, ‘john lewis round dining table’, ‘space saving dining table’, and ‘dining room furniture sets’ were high breakout searches, while ‘furniture village dining table and chairs’ searches rose 850%, ‘wayfair dining chairs’ searches were up 200% and ‘round extendable dining table’ searches rose 170%.
Living room furniture
Living room furniture saw three peak days during the month. The most searched day was 27 July that scored the full 100 score. Popular brand related searches included Oak Furnitureland, Furniture Village, DFS, DUSK, Sofology, Wayfair, B&M, John Lewis and Argos. The terms ‘tv unit’ – up 200%, ‘matching living room furniture’ – up 190%, ‘tv stand’ – up 180%, ‘side tables for living room’ – up 170%, ‘living room furniture sets’ – up 160%, and ‘storage furniture for living room’ – up 110%, were all standout searches.
Sofas
Sofa searches saw four peak dates, with the highest score of 100 recorded on 27 July. Popular related brand searches included Sofa Club, Oak Furnitureland, Furniture Village, ercol, Parker Knoll, Sofas and Stuff, ScS and Fishpools. Search terms included ‘sofa club Herford’, up 3,850%, ‘furniture village sofa beds’, up 300% and ‘corner sofa’, up by 950%. Other terms included ‘furniture village corner sofa’, up 80%, ‘l shape sofa’, up 50%, ‘bespoke sofas’, up 160% and ‘recliner sofas’, up 160%. Furthermore, ‘cheap sofas for sale under £300’ saw searches rise 3,850%, while searches of ‘how long do sofas last’ increased 3,650%.
Flooring & Carpets
Flooring searches saw 14 days scoring over 90, with the highest date being 29 July, scoring the full 100. Carpet searches saw eight days scoring over 90, with the highest date on 20 July scoring the full 100. Popular brand searches included Amtico, Tile Mountain, Frank’s Flooring, Ted Tood Flooring, UK Flooring Direct, Likewise, Flooring 365, United Carpets, Brintons, Victoria, IKEA, Abingdon Flooring and Tapi Carpets. Popular search terms included ‘lvt flooring’ – up 70%, ‘lino flooring roll’, up 60%, ‘carpet black friday’, up 850%, and ‘rug gripper for carpet’, up 300%. Other terms included ‘rodley carpets’, up 4,600%, ‘mulgrave carpets’, up 4,250%’ and ‘cromer carpets’, up 3,950%.
