Furniture wholesaler grows sales and profit

Furniture wholesaler Birlea has reported an increase in sales and profit.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 October 2023, total sales rose 25.2% to £22.8m from £18.2m in 2022.

Pre-tax profit resulted at £2.5m, up from its profit of £0.9m recorded the previous year. Gross profit margin has increased to 34.3% from 31.2%.

Stated within its report, the company said: “The director is pleased to report year-on-year growth in the business as a result of improved trading conditions in the UK economy in general and in the furniture market specifically.”
