Furniture wholesaler Kettle Home ceases to trade

Furniture wholesaler Kettle Home has ceased trading with the business entering liquidation on 9 October 2024.

The Corby-based business has made all 88 staff redundant following an internal announcement, which has been confirmed to Big Furniture Group by Kettle’s directors.

Kettle Home’s website has also been taken down with a notice stating ‘Store Currently Unavailable’.

It is understood that Begbies Traynor will release a further statement on the appointment in due course.

Kettle’s directors could not share any further comment at this stage but wanted to address how “difficult” the situation has been and that their focus is with the “affected staff that have been made redundant”.

The closure marks the second time Kettle has collapsed following the administration of Kettle Interiors. Gary Shankland and Ken Pattullo, both of Begbies Traynor, were appointed as joint administrators of Kettle Interiors UK Ltd on 24 March 2023.

Kettle Home Ltd then acquired the assets with Ian Kettle and Stuart Caddy leading the purchase. (See related).
