High level of registrations for interzum 2025

From 20 to 23 May 2025, interzum will take place in Cologne, and international suppliers to the furniture and interior design industries will gather once again for the trade fair.

The final preparations for the industry’s most important event in the world are in full swing, and the high level of registrations is further confirmation of the relevance of the international trade fair for the sector.

“The impressive level of registrations shows how big the anticipation surrounding interzum is within the industry, despite the continuing global economic and social challenges. As the world’s leading sector platform for innovation and commercial success, the event is set to be a pivotal gathering for international suppliers yet again. The trade fair will reflect the industry in its full diversity and depth,” says Maik Fischer, interzum’s director.

Central theme for 2025: Rethinking Resources
Sustainability will remain the overarching theme for interzum. Guided by its central theme, Rethinking Resources: Circular and Biobased Solutions, the trade fair will focus on material cycles and innovative biobased materials. Resource-efficient production processes are crucial to the industry’s future, and this key topic will feature prominently in both the exhibitors’ presentations and the first-class event programme.

Industry event delivers added value
One of the standout highlights at the event is set to be the stage on the Boulevard North, which will offer double the inspiration by hosting two distinct formats. The interzum Trend Stage will offer exclusive in-depth insights into the market trends in furniture, materials and interior design. Hosted at the same location, the Product Stage will see top companies present their innovative products and corporate visions. The trend forums will also address the most important issues facing the industry. They will shed light on topics such as biocircular materials, intelligent use of resources and digital product passports.

A further highlight will be the prestigious interzum award, which honours exceptionally innovative products, production processes and materials developed by international suppliers to the furniture industry. At interzum 2025, an international expert jury will select the most outstanding solutions from 145 entries submitted by 80 exhibitors from 25 countries. Prizes will be awarded in four categories – including the new category, Rethinking Resources. The prize-winning exhibits will be displayed in a dedicated exhibition on the Boulevard North.
