Independent business prepares move to bigger store

Independent furniture business Norfolk Retro has revealed it plans to move to a new, larger site.

The shop, situated in St Augustines Street, Norwich, is set to takeover the former Little Smiths space, which will their footprint expand.

Owned by Laura Budds, Norfolk Retro has been based at its current site since September last year but couldn’t turn down the opportunity to move into a bigger premises after outgrowing its space.

The new store is situated just up the road from its current location and will undergo refurbishment before opening, which is expected to be in July.

Commenting on the move, Norfolk Retro said: “I’m going to be waving goodbye to 13 St Augustine’s St. This will be the last month in my little shop and I will be so sad to say goodbye to it. A lot of blood, sweat and tears went into making it a success and it’s been very good to me. Didn’t think I’d be leaving this soon, but it’s all part of the self-employed rollercoaster life.

“I’m not closing, I’m moving to a bigger shop on the same street. I’ll be taking over the Little Smiths’ space at no.62-66. I’ll be helping my landlord find someone suitable to take over no.13 and I’ll also have a shop space to sublet in my new place.

“I’m keen to chat to people looking for a retail space that will sit well alongside existing businesses on the street and help drive footfall to the area. Exciting times ahead as I have plans for a pop up space too.”
