Independent gifts, homeware and furniture retailer England at Home has closed for the final time.

The business, which operated its store on Ship Street in Brighton, has now closed following a retirement sale by its owners.

In a short statement on its closure, the company said: “Thank you, Brighton, and its visitors for a very happy 30 years. It is time for us to pursue other interests and enjoy a different pace of life.

“We are grateful to all our loyal customers and staff members, old and new. You have all helped us build England at Home into the thriving business it became. Well done all.”
