Independent interiors business expands with The Store

Independent interiors business Emma Cross Interior Design has expanded with the opening of The Store in Berwick.

Emma Cross Interior Design, owned by Emma Cross and also operates from its studio in Gullane, is moving into Castle Cottage Interiors located on North Berwick’s Station Road.

Carla Henderson, owner of Castle Cottage Interiors, the former occupiers of the shop, will continue to be involved in a design capacity at The Store.

The Store, which officially opened on 11 December 2023, features custom-made seating and beds and a selection of luxury bedding, lighting, soft furnishings and homewares that “cannot be found anywhere else on the high street”.

Commenting on the opening, the company said: “Emma is looking forward to working with Carla – the name on the door will be different but Carla will be a big part of the team.

“Within this fantastic retail space, you can expect Emma’s bright, contemporary interiors alongside one-of-a-kind pieces of furniture artfully restored in Emma’s signature style alongside custom-made seating and beds and a selection of luxury bedding, lighting, soft furnishings and homewares that cannot be found anywhere else on the high street.

“Farrow and Ball will remain and Emma has new accounts with some exciting brands including Addison Ross (she is their only Scottish stockist), and is the only East Lothian stockist for Designers Guild Nobilis La Maison Pierre Frey and Thibaut.

“While the Gullane studio remains appointment only, shoppers will be able to enjoy browsing this bright and airy retail space in North Berwick.”
