The Furniture Makers’ Company, the City of London livery company and charity for the furnishing industry, has launched a month-long Online Christmas Charity Auction with the hope of raising at least £10,000.
This online event will run until Friday 8 December, giving bidders the chance to acquire exceptional items ahead of Christmas while supporting their industry charity.
The auction will feature over 20 exclusive lots, showcasing the best in furniture, experiences, and unique collectibles. Among the highlights is a money-can’t-buy overnight stay for two at Mansion House, the residence of the Lord Mayor of London, and Six Nations rugby tickets to see Italy vs England in Rome, which includes a two-night hotel stay.
Sports enthusiasts can also bid on tickets to a Northampton Saints Rugby Union game, a four-ball opportunity at Northamptonshire County Golf Club, 18 holes of golf at Goodwood for four people, or guided dry fly and upstream nymph fishing on the Wiltshire Avon.
The online auction also offers delightful experiences, such as an evening cookery course, tickets to Disney’s The Lion King, and royal circle tickets to The Great Christmas Feast at The Lost Estate.
It wouldn’t be a Furniture Makers’ auction without an excellent selection of furniture and beds to bid on, with goods from And So To Bed, Ercol, Hypnos, Ocee & Four Design, Sleepeezee, Stressless and ViSpring.
To participate, interested individuals can visit the auction website DONATE, which is powered by the National Funding Scheme, and place their bids on these items and experiences, which have all been generously donated. Proceeds from the auction will be dedicated to supporting the charity’s educational programme and welfare support.
The Furniture Makers’ Company would like to thank the following companies and individuals that donated a lot: Abinger Cookery School, Alistair Gough, And So To Bed / ViSpring, Artelium, David Woodward, Debbie Johnson, Ekornes, Ercol, Gary Smith, Gaze Burvill, Gladsome Chartered Surveyors, Graham Marley, Harrison Spinks, HIPPO, Hypnos, Ocee & Four Design, Pro Auction, Sanderson Design Group and Sleepeezee.
The charity would also like to thank the following trade new media for helping promote the campaign: Big Furniture Group, Furniture News, Furniture Production, Interiors Monthly and The Furnishing Report.
Jonny Westbrooke, CEO at The Furniture Makers’ Company, said: “I would like to thank all the companies and individuals who generously donated lot items in support of this important fundraiser. All the money raised will help fund our charitable activities, our education and training programme and welfare grants for people working in the industry.”
