Two kitchen industry experts are going into business with a soon to open new venture located in the heart of Cambridge. Both Catherine Salmon and Rodger Lloyd share a passion for kitchen design and have now joined forces to launch the Kutchenhaus Cambridge showroom.
Due to open its doors on 81 Regent St in November, the new 2,000 sq. ft German kitchen showroom will consist of three floors of kitchen inspiration, design and displays, alongside the latest appliances.
Both Catherine and Rodger are taking the next step in their career together, having met and worked collaboratively in the past.
Catherine has been in the industry for 20 years, working in recognised companies as well as for herself. Her experience includes kitchen sales and design, alongside education, where she has taught interior and kitchen design over the last 10 years.
An established industry figure, previous roles took her into all aspects of business and Catherine’s last position is where she met Rodger, working closely together for six years. Following the pair leaving their previous roles, they kept in touch thanks to shared interests and values.
Catherine comments: “Having explored the Kutchenhaus franchise route, and after discussions with Rodger, we decided it would be a great fit for us to venture into owning our own showroom.
“It has always been a main ambition of mine to own a showroom and, using 20 years of experience to realise my own businesses, this was the natural next step. It is my purpose, passion and drive to bring more sustainability and wellbeing to people’s homes, and also to the industry we work in. We will be focused on producing the very best for the Cambridge area.”
Rodger has worked in the industry for eight years, following a career in performing arts. After entertaining the masses, he found a new passion in kitchen design, falling in love with the creativity it brings. Here, he will continue to bring joy to others and connect with people on a personal level to create amazing spaces.
Rodger honed his craft over a number of years, notably working at kitchen brand Harvey Jones. Now he is taking his experience and embarking on a new journey as a Kutchenhaus showroom owner.
He comments: “Designing kitchens allows me to combine my love for creativity and problem-solving, helping people to bring their dream to life. I take great pride in looking at a space, understanding the client’s needs and budget, and delivering a stunning design that enhances their home and lifestyle.
“Now, I feel it’s the perfect time to embark on my own journey — to build something that’s unique and continue doing what I love most: creating joy through beautiful kitchen designs. I am excited about the future and passionate about making a difference, one kitchen at a time alongside a fantastic business partner. We have worked together for six years, so know how each other operates and we seem to complement and support one another very well.”
