Kitchen furniture firm grows sales to £7m

Kitchen furniture manufacturer Stoneham Plc has reported a growth in sales.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2024, total sales rose 11.1% to £7m from £6.3m in 2023.

Pre-tax losses resulted at £75,000, down from a profit of £94,000 year-on-year.

Stated within its report, Stoneham, which also manufactures furniture for utility, media, bedrooms and studies, said: “The sales performance for 2024 comprised a strong sales order intake for first 9 months of the year and turnover improvement on 2023 levels.

“The new governments negative signalling of the British economy and poor public finances weakened consumer confidence during the Autumn 2024 resulting in reduced retail showroom footfall and enquiries during that period.

“We have noted a reduced order intake later in 2024 as a consequence- although this has since recovered somewhat. The government’s Autumn budget 2024 introduced extra costs on employment with NI, National Living Wage and Sick Pay arrangements due to impact in 2025.”
