Kitchen furniture manufacturer sees losses widen

Kitchen furniture manufacturer Burbidge & Son has reported a decline in sales.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2023, total sales fell 19.7% to £7.7m from £9.6m in 2022.

Pre-tax losses amounted to £1.4m, widening from a loss of £180,000 recorded the previous year.

UK sales stood at £7.2m, down 21.7% from £9.2m, while revenues across Europe resulted at £507,000, up by 34.4% from £377,000. Rest of the world sales amounted to £44,000.

Burbidge posted a negative EBITDA at £1m, compared from positive £171,000 against the previous period. Total income stood at a loss of £992,000. Net assets remained strong at £4.1m.
