Modular furniture firm returns to profit

Modular furniture manufacturer and retailer Vitsœ has reported another year of sales over £15m and a return to profit.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2023, total sales fell 2% to £15.3m from £15.6m in 2022.

Pre-tax profit resulted at £462,000, improving from a loss of £3.1m recorded in the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company said: “Although Vitsœ’s sales declined by 2% to £15.38m in the year under review, the previous decline in gross margin was reversed, and the company returned to profit.

The filing of these accounts has been delayed by ongoing legal action to recover the costs incurred in 2022 to repair the defective roof on Vitsœ’s new production building in Leamington Spa. “Following a high court trial in January 2025 Vitsoæ failed to recover the repair costs incurred but maintains supportive relationships with its key stakeholders, including its secured lender. Vitsœ traded strongly in the second half of 2024, allowing it to deal with the outcome of the court case.”
