National furniture retailer Furniture Village has secured planning permission to open a new store in Worcester.

Situated at Elgar Retail Park on Blackpole Rd, Furniture Village previously submitted a planning application to Worcester City Council to take over a former Argos unit.

However, there was a restriction on the store that prevented the unit from being used as anything other than a catalogue shop.

Worcester City Council has now removed the planning restriction, pathing the way for Furniture Village to progress with its store plans, which would be the retailers first in Worcester.

Elgar Retail Park already features a variety of home furnishing retailers, including Next, Wren Kitchens, Dunelm, Tapi Carpets and Floors, Bensons for Beds and Homesense.
