Office chair supplier grows profit despite reduction in sales

Office furniture manufacturer Pledge Office Chairs has reported a decline in turnover.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 May 2024, total sales fell 8.5% to £12.8m from £14m in 2023.

Pre-tax profit resulted at £667,000, up from its profit of £485,000 recorded in the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company, which specialises in wooden, steel and upholstered seating, said: “2024 proved to be a challenging year and whilst the financial statements evidence a modest reduction in turnover, the directors are pleased to report an overall improvement in gross profit of 1.5% over the previous year, notwithstanding the major increases faced in the direct costs of power, light and heat.”
