Online homeware platform under new ownership again

Trouva, a platform to discover independent brands and businesses within the homewares, fashion and lifestyle space, has been acquired by Inspiration Commerce Group (ICG).

The business was previously owned by GCG Capital which acquired the company back in February from Project J as part of a pre-pack administration.

Over the last three years, Trouva has been owned at by Made.com and briefly by its owner Next, and Re:store before it was acquired by Project J last year.

During this time, Trouva’s operations have faced uncertainty as several ownership changes and payment backlogs led to concerns among its boutique partners.

In a statement, ICG said Trouva will benefit from its operational capabilities, financial infrastructure, and deep industry relationships, as it looks to ensure reliable payments, consistent platform support and renewed trust among boutiques and consumers.

Furthermore, Trouva’s website will undergo a phased modernisation, including the introduction of a faster checkout, improved search algorithms, and seamless integration with boutique inventory systems.

Andrew Ladouceur, founder and chief executive of ICG, said: “Our track record with brands such as Stylight and My Best Brands has shown that when you combine a passion for curation with disciplined operational execution, you can unlock tremendous value for both shoppers and boutique partners.

“Trouva embodies the very spirit of discovery that we cherish, and we intend to invest heavily in its platform, vendor relationships, and customer experience.”
