Outdoor furniture brand partners with interior designer

Outdoor furniture manufacturer Akula Living has announced a new design collaboration with internationally acclaimed interior designer Kelly Hoppen.

The partnership consists of two outdoor furniture collections – Fusion and Spiral – each combining Akula’s craftsmanship with Hoppen’s signature neutral palette and timeless aesthetic.

The Fusion and Spiral collections come in two curated colourways, expertly chosen by Kelly Hoppen and her design team. Mineral Rope is paired with white and taupe fabric tones and aged black ceramic tabletops, creating a more earthy, grounded aesthetic.

In contrast, Graphite Rope combines crisp white ceramic finishes and light fabrics with the darker rope detailing- offering a bolder and more contemporary feel.

“Both collections are constructed using the same marine-grade materials, selected for their durability, functionality, and premium visual appeal,” Akula said. “These include Olefin rope, powder-coated aluminium, upholstered marine-grade cushions, and ceramic tabletops. The materials are designed to withstand the outdoor elements, offering UV, seawater, and chlorine resistance, and are crafted with quick-dry foam and vented cushions for fast drainage and comfort.”

Kelly Hoppen, CBE, commented: “I’m thrilled to be launching this collection of outdoor furniture with Akula Living. From our very first conversation, it was clear that we shared a commitment to design excellence and a detail-oriented approach to the creative process. The collection is a natural extension of my interior design work – bringing the same principles of balance, harmony, and understated luxury into the outdoor space.

“Every piece reflects my long-held belief that design should be timeless, deeply considered and, yet, appear effortless. We’ve focused on neutral palettes, layered textures, and sculptural silhouettes that demonstrate how outdoor furniture can be just as elegant and effortless as indoor furniture.”
