Product refresh helps orders bounce back at sofa retailer

Sofa retailer Sofology, part of the DFS Group, has reported a reduction in sales and profit but did see a return to order growth towards the end of its trading period.

According to latest filed accounts to 30 June 2024, Sofology sales fell 11.1% to £264.8m from £298.1m in 2023.

Pre-tax profit resulted at £7m, down from £10.2m recorded in the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company said: “Sofology performed broadly in line with the wider marker over the period as a whole. Following a relatively tough start to the year we adapted the brand’s retail pricing and introduced a number of new product rages to provide an overall refresh to the proposition.

“These changes have had an almost instantaneous impact with the brand returning to order intake growth in the final quarter of the year. We are optimistic for the future and see signs that market growth could return soon.”
