Sales decline but profit improves at bedding supplier

Bedding specialist to the hospitality industry, Richard Haworth, has reported a decline in sales while profit increased.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 30 April 2024, total sales fell 4.7% to £41.8m from £43.9m in 2023.

UK sales fell 5.6% to £40.4m from £42.8m, while EU sales rose from £1m to £1.2m. Outside the EU, sales stood at £125,000, down from £162,000.

Pre-tax profit resulted at £9m, up from £7.1m recorded in the previous year, marking a third straight year of bottom-line growth.

Stated within its report, the company said it has implemented a strategy that will “continue to focus on beneficial trading activities core to the business with results targeted to be realised in 2024/25”.
