Furniture and interiors business Soho Home has reported a growth in sales as turnover rose by £20m.
According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 1 January 2023, total sales rose 83% to £44m from £24m in 2022, further adding to its growth of 97% from £12.2m in 2021.
Losses resulted at £1.8m, down from a profit of £4.3m. Adjusted EBITDA was at a loss of £449,000, also down from a profit of £2.5m.
Soho Home, which operates online and in select retailers such as Harrods and Selfridges, as well as from four UK stores, said that gross margin decreased from 50% to 41% as a results of increased shipping costs associated with fulfilling customer orders.
The business added that the uptick in sales was driven by an increase in online purchases and the opening of one new store as well as a full year of trading of stores opened in the prior period.
