Danish furniture manufacturer Skovby has announced the appointment of DXN (Graham Dixon) and Westgarth (Greg French) as the new agents for its UK sales activity.
This strategic collaboration aims to strengthen Skovby’s presence in the market and aligns with the respected Scandinavian brands already represented by Westgarth and DXN, such as SITS and Flexlux.
The partnership between DXN and Westgarth marks a significant step forward for Skovby, ensuring a robust and dynamic approach to the UK market.
Westgarth, one of the UK’s longest-established furniture agencies, and DXN have a collaborative history spanning over 15 years. Their combined wealth of experience and industry knowledge aligns seamlessly with Skovby’s dedication to quality and innovation.
Skovby has long been celebrated for its proud craftsmanship traditions, aesthetics, functionality, and the use of natural materials. The company produces classic and timeless furniture in Denmark, characterised by modern and innovative designs. Founded in 1933 by cabinetmaker Thorvald Rasmussen, Skovby has spanned three generations, driven by a passion for wood and good craftsmanship.
Skovby’s 90 years of furniture production experience are reflected in its simple, clean designs that combine multi-functionality with groundbreaking patented solutions. Now an international high-tech company committed to sustainability, Skovby’s operations are designed to be carbon-neutral, utilising natural materials with respect for the environment and people.
By producing furniture at its Galten plant near Aarhus, Skovby minimises unnecessary transportation of raw materials, which are sourced locally wherever possible. The company supports sustainability initiatives, such as The Growing Trees Network Foundation, to plant trees, reduce CO2 emissions, and protect natural habitats.
Graham Dixon said: “We are thrilled to join forces with Westgarth and take on the Skovby contract for the UK market. Our combined expertise and shared values make this a natural fit. Over the next few months, we will be visiting UK stores to conduct in-store training and invite customers to Denmark to experience Skovby’s new collections first-hand.”
Greg French added: “Having worked together for over 15 years, Graham and I are excited to develop the right plan and strategy for Skovby’s growth in the UK. We will spend the summer getting acquainted with the Skovby brand and ensuring a smooth transition. Rasmus Bliddal, Skovby’s sales manager, will continue to support our activities and help drive our success.”
In October 2024, Westgarth and DXN will showcase Skovby at the prestigious High Point Market in High Point, North Carolina, USA. As the world’s largest furnishings industry trade show, High Point Market attracts tens of thousands of visitors from over 100 countries. This event will provide an excellent platform for Skovby to present its extensive range of high-quality furniture to a global audience.
