National upholstered furniture retailer DFS has announced the appointment of its new group chief customer and commercial officer.
DFS’ chief executive Nick Smith has taken on the newly created role, which includes the leadership position of sister retailer Sofology.
The appointment forms part of a wider restructuring with Arron Burton now appointed as group commercial director and James Brewer as the new group marketing director. Furthermore, Graham Mould has been appointed group customer operations director.
DFS said that the restructure, which also sees Sofology’s boss Emma Dinnis, alongside Adam Smith, customer operations, and Jan Duckworth, brand director, exit the business at the end of December, merges its management teams to create a “more simplified structure”.
The transition to the new leadership structure, which also includes the already established group leaders of HR, IT, finance and distribution teams, will be in effect from 1 January 2025.
DFS thanked the trio for their “important contribution” in a parting statement from CEO Tim Stacey, adding that by bringing DFS and Sofology “together under one management team” it will “create a more simplified structure, enabling us to focus on our strategic priorities, fully unlock group efficiencies, and create a stronger business for the future”.
