Upholstered furniture retailer ScS has revealed plans to open a new store in Warrington.
According to a planning application submitted to Warrington Borough Council, ScS plans to take over a unit on Junction Nine Retail Park, currently occupied by Pagazzi Lighting.
Detailed in the plans, ScS wants to implement a new mezzanine within the unit as well as minor elevation amendments.
The planning application stated: “The application is pertaining to the occupation of commercial space that will shortly become vacant.
“The existing occupier, Pagazzi Lighting, will be vacating the building and ScS has agreed terms with the landowner to take on the unit.
“This requires a full application for the new mezzanine floorspace of 647m2, as well as an amendment to prior consent that would otherwise prohibit the use of mezzanine space within unit 6B for the display or sale of retail goods.
“The applicant has agreed to let unit 6B to a furniture retailer, ScS, subject to the revisions sought by these consents.
“The application does not require any consequential revisions to the car park layout or the appearance of the front of the unit.
“The development proposed has been carefully designed to be entirely consistent with previous consents, in terms of maintaining the frontal elevational approach.
“The proposal creates no additional footprint development, but it does propose internal works to deliver a trading mezzanine such that it can accommodate a mid-format furniture retailer.
“This will replace the existing non-trading mezzanine floorspace of 273m2 within the unit with a 647m2 mezzanine.”
The application has been approved by Warrington Borough Council. The development must commence within the next three years.
